Marco
I’m currently a junior at Westminster Christian School and a soccer fanatic! I’ve been playing competitive travel soccer with Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club for the past nine years, and I also play for my school’s varsity soccer team. I’ve had the chance to compete with Gauchitos United Futsal Club, participating in two Futsal World Championships. Soccer has introduced me to some of my best friends, who generously help support my foundation by donating their gear to kids in Colombia.
To help fund Cleats for Colombia, I referee soccer games on the weekends as a certified US Soccer official. Academically, I’m an Emerald Scholar at Westminster, where I take the school’s most challenging courses, providing me opportunities for internships, research, and service projects. I’m also enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Signature Program and recently founded our school’s first-ever DECA chapter. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and their future careers.
My two favorite soccer teams are Athletic Club de Bilbao and Inter Miami.

Alexander
I’m currently a sophomore at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where I’ve received the prestigious William Fry Scholarship and am a member of the Hutton Honors College. I’ve also been accepted into the Kelley Honors Program. While soccer was a big part of my upbringing, I focused on competitive swimming during high school, representing Westminster Christian School’s varsity swim team.
At Indiana University, I’m actively involved in activities that celebrate my Hispanic heritage. I was elected freshman representative of Latinos Unidos and am a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar. I currently hold leadership roles in ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals For America), the Trockman Microfinance Initiative, and Crimson Consulting.
Soccer has always been a passion in my family, especially for my father, who is a devoted Athletic Club de Bilbao fan. We love following La Liga and Premier League matches. Cleats for Colombia allows me to combine my love for soccer and my desire to give back, helping kids in Colombia play the beautiful game.
